There are lots of people who want to support you with feeding your baby. In this section we describe services that may be on offer in your area and provide information on how those closest to you can help.
Social support can help with breastfeeding in so many ways. Other people may be able to provide practical support, or provide reassurance that your experience is normal.
Search for ‘breastfeeding support services’ in your area. If this link does not seem to find services in your area speak to your midwife or health visitor who are likely to know of local organisations.
There are also lots of online communities full of breastfeeding mothers. They can be very supportive for helping mothers new to breastfeeding to overcome their concerns about breastfeeding.
The way your baby is attached to your breast can make all the difference.
